Topic: RLink on Vista

I have tried to install the drivers for the Dongle with RLink_WinDriverV7V on XP SP3 without any problem,  but on Vista I have tried three different computers:

Vista Business: no succes
Vista Ultimate: no success
I get 'Unable to install WinDriver's kernel module' and the dongle is not recognized by the Device Manager.

However,
Vista Home (w/o SP1): no problem

For Vista, I used 'Run As Administrator' in all cases.
Doesn't RLink work on Vista Business or Ultimate?

What am I missing?

Re: RLink on Vista

Hi,

There is a new RLink USB driver for Vista 64. (For Vista 32, both the old and the new should work.)

But for using the new driver you must completely reinstall Ride, as the old Ride does not know the old driver.

I suggest you download and install the latest version of Ride (all the kits). It includes the latest driver.

Also, on all versions of Vista, you must run the installer (for both Ride and the drivers, old or new) using the 'run as admin' option, which you did but I prefer to repeat it for other people reading the forum.

Best Regards,

Vincent
